About Us
Laboring and recovering women often ask us if they can wear their own clothes in the hospital. As much as we try to support this request, it typically does not work. There are practical reasons hospital gowns are used during and following labor: IV access, epidural access, fetal heart rate monitoring, baby access and breastfeeding-- to name a few. Normal clothing does not allow for the efficient access we need to provide the best care possible for mom and baby.
We want women to have something familiar to wear--something practical, comfortable and reasonably priced that they can bring with them to the hospital. Women plan for quite some time to have a baby (or at least 9-months) and should have a comfortable and stylish gown-- something they actually want to wear on that special day-- something that will look good in pictures for years to come.
There are a few companies out there with similar ideas, but either the gowns are impractical for the hospital setting or highly overpriced. Our goal is to allow everyday Moms (like myself!) to have the opportunity to be comfortable and confident in their dress while in the hospital.

I am a wife and mother of two fantastic children. I have a six-year-old son and one-year-old daughter. They are a lot of work but bring me so much joy.
The idea to start a company that specialized in labor and delivery gowns came to me shortly after starting my job as a labor and delivery nurse. I listened to women talk about their tattered gowns and wanting something more personalized and attractive to spend their time in while at the hospital. It made perfect sense to me that women would want to wear something they were comfortable in, yet still maintained functionality for one of the most important experiences of their lives. I put my product to the test when I had my daughter via emergency c-section this past year. I was in the hospital for close to a week and was very pleased to have my LaborLooks hospital gown.
It is so much fun having a product that makes pregnant women and new moms smile. The birth of a child is amazing and making that experience all the more enjoyable is something I take great pride in. I always love sharing my stories with anyone who will listen and love, love to hear about yours.
I hope you decide to purchase a gown, made with love, whether it is for a friend, loved-one or yourself.

I am a wife I am a mom I am a midwife
I blog I facebook I read
I have 2 girls I have a candy addiction I have a fear of scorpions
I am messy I am happy I am loud
I use cloth diapers I use a breast pump I use my blackberry
I don't clean I don't cook I don't talk politics
I love baking I love baby kisses I love childbirth and everything it encompasses. I love new life and knowing women are strong no matter how they birth their babies. These strong women need to know that no matter how or where they give birth they can hold tight to a laborlooks gown that is their own. That their first pictures and first breaths of life for their baby will be encompassed with a soft fabric that promotes peace, love, and beauty.
